Coliving & Remote Work Glossary
What is a Community Meeting?
A community meeting is a casual group check-in where everyone living in the same coliving space comes together to share ideas, give feedback, and co-create the vibe of the house. It’s a space to talk about what’s working, what’s coming up, and what people want more of — socially or practically.
It’s less like a formal meeting and more like a house chat with purpose.
Why Does a Community Meeting Matter for Digital Nomads or Remote Workers?
In a lifestyle where people are constantly coming and going, a weekly check-in helps build continuity. It’s a chance to reflect, get on the same page, and help shape your shared experience — instead of just showing up for it.
For remote workers, it also creates a rhythm beyond just work — helping make space for fun, intention, and shared ownership of the home.
How Does Nomadico Relate to Community Meetings?
At Nomadico, we call these family meetings, and they happen right after our weekly Tuesday dinner. After everyone eats, the community manager takes 10 minutes to ask the group what they’d like to do in the upcoming week — surf sessions, sunset hikes, skillshares, movie nights — anything goes.
It’s light, open, and collaborative — and a great way for guests to feel heard and contribute to the house vibe.
Common Misconceptions About Community Meetings
“It’s going to feel awkward or formal.”
Not at all. It’s relaxed, and often just a natural extension of dinner or hangout time.
“Only the hosts decide what happens in the house.”
In community-led coliving, guests shape the experience too — and meetings are the space to do that.
“You have to commit to running events.”
You don’t! You can simply share an idea, join something that interests you, or just listen in.
