COMMUNITY | COLIVING RIO DE JANEIRO

Beach - Nature - Music

Our community in Rio finds its rhythm in the hills of Santa Teresa: creative, warm, and full of life. Mornings begin with coffee in the garden overlooking the city, and days flow between cowork sessions, hikes, or time by the beach. Evenings bring samba nights, slow dinners, and long chats under the trees before heading to Lapa, where Rio’s nightlife truly hits different. Guided by our community manager, each week is co-created with guests, a shared rhythm where everyone quickly feels safe, welcome, and part of a family.

Rio De Janeiro

The Cidade Maravilhosa, lives up to its name. Where mountains meet the sea, and samba meets sunrise hikes, this city buzzes with color, rhythm, and life. The energy here is contagious - you’ll find locals dancing, surfing, and celebrating pretty much everything.

Our home is in Santa Teresa, a bohemian hilltop neighborhood with cobbled streets, street art, and epic views over the city. It’s Rio’s creative soul, filled with cozy cafés, live music spots, and a warm, artistic community. You’re close to Lapa’s nightlife and just a quick ride from the beaches, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and local.

We love Rio for its mix of energy and ease - one minute you’re hiking through rainforest, the next you’re joining a street party or catching waves. The nomad community is growing and in need of a coliving - we're stoked to be the first one!

Is it expensive?

Rio can be as affordable or as fancy as you make it. Daily life - from beachside açaí bowls to local lunches - is surprisingly good value, especially if you skip the tourist traps.

Coworking-friendly cafés, local transport, and groceries are all reasonably priced. Of course, cocktails with a view in Ipanema will cost more, but hey, balance, right?

Overall, it’s easy to live well in Rio without breaking the bank - just live like a local and you’ll stretch your reais far.

Coworking - can I take calls & rely on good Wi-Fi?

You’ll find a big table that fits eight, desks in every room, fast WiFi and A/C in the workspace.

Nearby shops

Everything you need is close by - cafes, grocery stores, restaurants, and an artistic neighborhood for creativity walks.

Is it safe?

Rio has its reputation, but with a bit of street smarts, you’ll be absolutely fine. Most nomads feel comfortable in the more well known areas like Ipanema, Botafogo and Santa Teresa, where the vibe is friendly and locals look out for each other.

Just keep the usual big-city awareness: stick to well-known spots, don’t flash valuables, and use trusted transport apps at night. Do that, and you’ll be free to enjoy what Rio does best - beach days, samba nights, and that infectious local energy.

Is there a community manager?

Yes! Our Nomadico community manager lives on-site. Expect dinners, hikes, and spontaneous samba nights with the Nomadico crew.
