Your Barranco home office
You'll have a dedicated workspace with fibre-optic WiFi, ergonomic chairs and natural light, while every private room also has its own desk. There’s also a call room if you need to take a meeting or make a call.
When you need a change of scenery, there are various shared spaces around the house where you can set up your laptop, with plenty of inspiration around you. You’ll also find professional coworking spaces within walking distance, as well as plenty of laptop-friendly cafés nearby.
Everything is super close by, so taking a break from your screen can easily mean grabbing a coffee, fitting in a quick gym session or going for a lovely walk around the neighbourhood.

In Lima, there’s always something happening outside the house. A walk by the cliffs, maybe a surf session, then an afternoon moving between murals, galleries and the streets of Barranco, before ending up at one of its excellent cocktail bars.
That’s where the community side really happens. Plans come together around Peruvian food, art, music and whatever sounds good that day, then stretch into dinners, sunset walks or one more stop on the way home.
And sometimes we take it further. We might snorkel with sea lions around the Palomino Islands or escape the city altogether for a weekend camping in Marcahuasi.

Lima, Peru
Lima is a huge city of around 10 million people stretched along the Pacific coast, mixing historic neighborhoods, modern city life, beaches and one of the best food scenes in Latin America. From neighborhood cevicherías and traditional Peruvian cooking to Nikkei and chifa cuisine, food is a big part of experiencing the city. Summer runs from December to April, with plenty of sunshine and daytime temperatures typically around 24–28°C. The ocean stays cold thanks to the Humboldt Current, but surfing is part of everyday life along the coast.
There's plenty to explore beyond the city too. Pachacamac's pre-Inca ruins are around 45 minutes away, while Cerro Azul's surf beach and Lunahuaná's rafting and vineyards make easy day trips. For a weekend away, head south to Paracas for desert landscapes, wildlife and a completely different side of Peru's coastline.
For remote workers, most of the action centers around two neighborhoods: Miraflores and Barranco. Miraflores is busier and more modern, while Barranco is smaller, more creative and full of character. That's where you'll find our home.
Barranco, Lima
You'll be living in Barranco, Lima's old bohemian district, where colourful streets, historic houses, art murals and galleries are pretty much all around you.
Most of what you need is within walking distance: cafés, gyms, supermarkets, local markets, restaurants, the Metropolitano bus line and viewpoints along the cliffs. The beach is also close, whether you fancy a walk, a surf or a swim.
For coffee or an afternoon of work, try La Bodega Verde, Casona Ofelia or Caleta Dolsa Coffee. For dinner, La Perlita, Canta Rana, El Muelle and Awicha are local favourites. And don't miss cultural spots such as Gato Tulipán or the buzzing nightlife.
A local art market runs from Thursday to Sunday, and especially during summer you'll find live music, outdoor events, open-air films, cooking classes and people filling the streets in the evening. There’s always something happening. It’s a wonderful place to experience, explore and get inspired.

How to get to Nomadico?
Fly into Lima, then take a trusted taxi to the house. Carmen recommends her regular driver, Cristian, who knows the property and can bring you right in, which is especially useful if you're landing late at night.
Kitchen & laundry facilities
You’ve got everything you need to live (and cook) comfortably:
Fully equipped shared kitchen.
Laundry pick-up service available through a nearby laundromat for an extra charge.
Public transport - do I need to rent a car?
Day to day, walking, biking, or Uber covers everything. For weekend trips outside the city, renting a car is the better option. Buses are best avoided except the short Barranco–Miraflores OR Barranco–Historical Center hop if you'd rather not walk.

Is it expensive?
Lima is fairly affordable for European or American visitors. A coffee costs around $2–3, a beer $1.50–6, and a good set lunch around $4.50–6. Getting around by Uber within the city typically costs around $3–9.
Coworking - can I take calls & rely on good Wi-Fi?
Yes. The house has fiber-optic WiFi and a dedicated workspace with ergonomic chairs. For calls and meetings, you can use your desk in your private room or the dedicated call room, which has a desk and chair for more focused calls.

Yes, all walking distance: a small market on Jaén street, a Metro supermarket, and Surco's traditional market.
What to do in the area
Surfing at Barranco's beach, the art market (Thursday to Sunday), sunset walks along the cliffs, and live music or cultural events at spots like Gato Tulipán. For day trips: the Pachacamac archaeological site, Morro Solar and its fish market, Lima's historic center, Paracas National Reserve, Lunahuana for rafting, and Cerro Azul for surf and fresh fish.
Is it safe?
Barranco is generally safe day to day, the usual "don't flash your phone" caution applies. Carmen flags the east side of the district, past Bolognesi Avenue, as one to be more mindful of, especially after dark.
Is there a community manager?
Yes! Our Nomadico community manager lives on-site. Expect dinners, hikes, and spontaneous salsa nights with the Nomadico crew.
