SLOW LIFE by NOMADICO
Created by former Nomadico guests, this jungle-side villa is everything they once looked for: calm, comfy, and close to the beach.

WORKSPACE | COLIVING HIRIKETIYA
Slow Life, fast WiFi
Tucked beneath the palms, the upper floor at Slow Life is a quiet, light-filled space designed for focus. We like life slow, but not the WiFi - the villa runs on fiber-optic internet, with A/C to keep things cool and chairs made for all-day comfort. Every room also has a desk for private work or calls, giving you the freedom to settle in wherever it feels right.
COMMUNITY | COLIVING HIRIKETIYA
Surf · Yoga · Nightlife
In the small surf town of Hiriketiya, community builds fast, faces become familiar, locals remember your name, and days move to a calm island rhythm. Mornings often start with yoga or surf, followed by coffee and coworking at beach cafés. Evenings bring dinner meetups, Nutella rotis, or dancing at Rip Robana. Everything’s walkable, though most grab a scooter for night rides or nearby adventures. It’s peaceful, warm, and just lively enough to feel alive.

Hiriketiya
Tucked into a horseshoe bay on the island’s southern coast, Hiriketiya (or just “Hiri,”) is where jungle cliffs meet warm waves, and digital nomads trade city noise for scooter rides and coconut chats. The vibe? Relaxed but buzzing—with a creative, wellness-loving crew who came for a surf trip and accidentally stayed all season.
Expect sunshine most of the year, with temps hovering between 26°C and 32°C. December to April is dry, golden, and surf-perfect. May to September brings a mix of tropical rains and lush green magic—less crowded, just as charming.
Hiri has roots as a quiet fishing village, but over the years it’s become a magnetic little hub for surfers, yogis, and remote workers chasing a slower, soul-filled lifestyle. You’ll still see traditional stilt fishermen and family-run curry joints tucked between vegan cafés and jungle ice baths. It’s local, it’s global, and it’s got just the right kind of magic.

Tips from locals
it’s the little daily rituals that make this village feel like home by week two.
Wrap up your work session and hop on a scooty - or go full explorer mode on foot. Wind through jungle paths, wave at a monkey or two, and make your way to the beach for a salty swim. On the way back, swing by Dots Bay House for a fresh juice, iced coffee, or spontaneous co-working sesh. It’s a vibe.
Take a cooking class at Rosie’s Kitchen, where everything is made with love (and coconut). It’s not just a flavor explosion - it’s a community-powered kitchen led by local women that’ll steal your heart and feed your soul.
Want to go full local? Hit up the buzzing Dikwella fish market, chat with the fishermen, grab the freshest catch, and plan a BBQ with your new Hiri crew.
From sunrise scooter rides to surprise dinner invites, this is island life at its best - simple, soulful, and exactly what you didn’t know you needed.
Meet our local partners
AJ and Rajeeva stayed with us in Madeira last year - and something clicked. Fast-forward a lot of “what if we...” chats later, they’ve teamed up with their friend Nadun to bring the Nomadico spirit to the lush south coast of Sri Lanka.
