Coliving & Remote Work Glossary

What is a Workspace?

A workspace is any physical area where someone does their work — whether that’s a desk in a coworking space, a quiet table in a café, or even a hammock with good WiFi. For remote workers, a workspace isn’t tied to a traditional office — it’s wherever you can focus, create, and get things done.

Why Does a Workspace Matter for Digital Nomads or Remote Workers?

Your environment can make or break your productivity. A comfortable, reliable workspace helps you stay focused, avoid burnout, and create separation between work and play — which can be tricky when you’re living in new places every few weeks.

Having access to good workspaces while traveling makes the nomadic lifestyle more sustainable and less stressful.

How Does Nomadico Relate to Workspaces?

Most Nomadico homes have a dedicated workspace — a quiet room or area set up specifically for productivity, with good lighting, fast WiFi, and ergonomic seating. Depending on the home’s size, there may also be extra work-friendly corners (like shared tables or terraces), and every private room typically comes with a small desk setup.

In some locations, like Bansko, we also partner with nearby coworking spaces to offer additional options — but our priority is always to make sure there’s at least one reliable work hub within the home itself.

Common Misconceptions About Workspaces

“A workspace has to be a formal office.”

Not true — digital nomads work from rooftops, cafés, communal tables, and coworking lounges.

“You can work from anywhere, so it doesn’t matter.”

The vibe and setup do matter — a poor workspace can kill focus and motivation.

“Workspaces are always quiet.”

Not necessarily. Some thrive in lively, social environments — others need quiet corners. The key is having options.
