Coliving & Remote Work Glossary

What is a Coworking Space?

A coworking space is a shared work environment where people can rent a desk or workspace - usually on a flexible basis. It’s designed for focus and collaboration, with amenities like fast WiFi, meeting rooms, coffee stations, and sometimes even nap pods or rooftop terraces.

It's the office, reimagined - without the cubicles or dress codes.

Why Does the Term Matter for Remote Workers or Digital Nomads?

Coworking spaces give remote workers a professional setup anywhere in the world. They’re especially helpful for digital nomads who want better focus than they’d get in a café or Airbnb. You can often book by the day, week, or month - and many spaces double as social hubs, offering workshops, events, or local networking opportunities.

It’s a plug-and-play solution to the “where do I work today?” question.

How Does Nomadico Relate to Coworking Spaces?

Most Nomadico homes have their own coworking setup in-house. But in a few destinations - like Bansko - we also partner with external coworking spaces nearby, giving guests a professional option just a short walk away.

Even in homes without a formal coworking room, there are always laptop-friendly zones with strong WiFi and comfy chairs for productive days.

Common Misconceptions About Coworking Spaces

“They’re just trendy offices.”

While they look cool, coworking spaces are built for productivity - often more effective than traditional offices.

“You need to be a member to use them.”

Most offer day passes, weekly rates, or flexible memberships - no long-term commitment needed.

“They’re only in big cities.”

Coworking spaces are popping up everywhere - including smaller towns and rural hubs catering to remote workers.
