Why visit MedellĂn in the low or shoulder season?

MedellĂn’s “City of Eternal Spring” weather means you can enjoy the city year-round, but visiting in the low or shoulder season (April–May or September–November) has its perks. You’ll find fewer crowds at popular spots, making it easier to snag a table at trendy restaurants or get a seat at your favorite cafĂ©. The city feels more relaxed, and prices for accommodation often drop. Occasional afternoon showers make everything extra lush and green - perfect for exploring nearby mountains or coffee farms. Plus, the digital nomad scene is still buzzing, so you’ll have no trouble meeting new friends or finding a great coworking space. Just pack a light jacket for those quick rain showers!

A day in the life of a Digital nomad in Medellin

Find out what you can do as a digital nomad here during the week and the weekend.

During the week

Depending on your work schedule, you might kick off your morning with a coffee at a local cafĂ© or a walk through leafy Laureles or El Poblado. Grab breakfast with fellow nomads - maybe some fresh arepas or tropical fruit from the neighborhood market. If you’re working early hours, you’ll have your afternoons free to explore MedellĂn’s green spaces, like hiking up Cerro de las Tres Cruces or unwinding in JardĂn BotĂĄnico. After work, join a coworking meetup, hit a rooftop bar for sunset, or check out a salsa class. Tuesday nights are perfect for trivia or board games at CafĂ© ClichĂ©, a favorite nomad hangout. Other evenings, you can sample street food, catch live music in Provenza, or just relax with friends over craft beers at 20Missions. MedellĂn’s energy makes every day feel like an adventure.

On the weekend

Start your weekend in MedellĂn with a coffee and fresh pastry at a local cafĂ© - there’s no better way to soak up the “City of Eternal Spring” vibes. For a dose of nature, hike up Cerro de las Tres Cruces or take a day trip to a nearby coffee farm for a true taste of Colombia. If you’re craving culture, wander through El Poblado’s art galleries or check out the street art in Comuna 13. When it’s time to unwind, grab lunch in Laureles and then relax in one of the city’s lush parks - Parque de los Pies Descalzos is a favorite. As evening rolls in, head to Provenza or Laureles for rooftop drinks and live music, or hop on a Chiva party bus for a night you won’t forget. MedellĂn’s weekends are all about mixing adventure, culture, and good times.

How to get to Medellin

Medellín is super easy to get to, thanks to its international airport with direct flights from major cities across the Americas. If you’re already in Colombia, buses connect Medellín with places like Bogotá and Cali, making travel a breeze. Many nomads continue their journey to other Colombian hotspots like Cartagena or Santa Marta, or even hop over to Ecuador or Peru. I also recommend checking out Bogotá—it’s way cooler (and greener!) than you might expect.
