Coliving & Remote Work Glossary

What is Coworking?

Coworking is a way of working where people from different jobs, companies, or backgrounds share a common space - usually one designed for productivity, flexibility, and connection. It’s the alternative to working from home or a traditional office, especially for freelancers, remote workers, and digital nomads.

It’s less about sharing a company, more about sharing an environment.

Why Does the Term Matter for Remote Workers or Digital Nomads?

Coworking gives digital nomads the structure and community they might miss on the road. Instead of working solo from a hotel room or café, they get fast WiFi, ergonomic seating, quiet zones, networking opportunities, and a sense of routine.

Coworking spaces also help separate “work mode” from “life mode,” which is key when your home, job, and travels all blend together.

How Does Nomadico Relate to Coworking?

Coworking is built into the Nomadico experience. Most of our homes have a dedicated workspace designed for remote work - usually with hot desk-style setups, strong WiFi, good lighting, and comfy chairs. Some locations also offer outdoor spots or casual nooks for more relaxed working.

In certain places, we even partner with coworking spaces nearby - giving guests access to a professional environment when needed.

Common Misconceptions About Coworking

“It’s only for tech workers or startups.”

Coworking welcomes all professions - writers, designers, teachers, consultants, and more.

“It’s the same as a coffee shop.”

Coworking spaces are designed for productivity, often offering things like meeting rooms, quiet zones, and stable internet.

“It’s just a place to work.”

It can be much more - many coworking spaces host events, talks, or community lunches that help you connect with others.
